Job Description:

  • Coordinate monthly PAC meetings and serves as staff liaison for the Building Industry Group (B.I.G.)
  • Coordinate political fundraising for the BIG, including annual Dessert Auction, Legislative Luncheon and other events as scheduled/planned
  • Conduct candidate research
  • Educate BIA members on purpose of the BIG and promote payment of PAC dues
  • Attend political networking events
  • Coordinate the Build the Vote program, committee and oversee the Build the Vote program coordinator
  • Oversee the Just 10% campaign program
  • Facilitate development and execution of BIG marketing materials
  • Formulate key messages and goals for any political action PR campaigns
  • Distribution of releases and information to news media regarding political action campaigns
  • Meetings with executives and staff to implement programs
  • Oversee all budgets in relation to the B.I.G. & Build the Vote
  • Prepare B.I.G. Chair reports for BIA Board Meetings
  • Manage political action content for monthly BIA newsletter
  • Manage political action content for Website
  • Reports and updates as requested

Qualifications:

• Knowledge of local and state political environment/structure
• Established relationships with local elected officials, building industry coalition partners and BIA members.
• Ability to work with elected officials from all political parties
• Ability to work with coalition partners, other BIA departments, and members
• Ability to write clearly and effectively
• Proven record of good judgment and fiscal responsibility
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with peers

Reports to: Government Affairs Director and Building Industry Group Chair
