Getting to Know Blaze Restoration

Blaze Restoration is a locally owned and operated restoration company headquartered in Vancouver and licensed in California, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Established in 2015, Blaze Restoration is proud that they are an independent company, working directly for the home or business owner and not the insurance carrier.

Whether in need of repairs to residential and commercial structures due to fire, water, and storm damage, Blaze Restoration’s team will go above and beyond to ensure your experience is hassle-free.

Blaze Restoration is owned by Ken Stryker and since the company’s founding, their motto has been “Let’s Get to Work.” Each day Ken displays the company’s core values through his actions as owner and in a beautiful display in their main office in Vancouver.

One of those core values is community. The company truly strives to make the community a priority for everything that they do. They partner with the following organizations:

  • Evergreen Habitat for Humanity – hosting a group build each year with current and past clients and help with projects
  • Police Activities League of Southwest Washington – donating to their cause and sponsorship of a basketball tournament
  • Glaze at Blaze – started in their first year in business, every Thanksgiving, they receive nominations from the community for families in need of a full Thanksgiving meal. They then deliver those meals to their homes
  • HotShots – the company also sponsors and coaches youth basketball

Due to Ken’s community leadership, he was recognized by the Vancouver Business Journal as “Accomplished & Under 40” in 2018.

Blaze Restoration is committed to quality and excellence in their business practices. Last year they received the Building Excellence Award for Residential Remodel > $500,000: “Caver Residence,” one of their largest projects in Vancouver. Ken reflects on that project as a fun experience taking an existing footprint and completely renovating it from the top down.

When asked what he liked most about being a BIA member, Ken stated, “Advocacy. It’s nonstop, and given what we do for a living, so are we. It’s a great feeling knowing that while we’re on the job, the BIA is fighting to further our industry while protecting our interests.”

While the BIA has helped to protect and promote Blaze Restoration, Ken also offers advice to small businesses owners looking to grow (or start out): “Surround yourself with people that believe in you and your mission. It’s important to realize that you need help, so do not be afraid to seek counsel from those around you. Do not second guess yourself either. You will never fail, you’ll learn and grow. Trust your gut, and keep going because you don’t have time to look back.”

Thank you, Blaze Restoration, for your support of the BIA and your community involvement!
