Building Futures Foundation Extends Scholarship Deadline
Vancouver, Wash – (May 3, 2017) – The Building Futures Foundation (BFF) is now accepting applications for academic scholarships through May 26. The Building Futures Foundation, the non-profit, educational foundation for the BIA, has promoted public education, student scholarship and environmentally sensitive building practices in the building industry since 2002. $14,000 was raised for student scholarships at the Foundation’s signature event Mardi Gras Casino Night presented by Riverview Community Bank in February.
Students who plan to attend college, university, trade or technical school, or get enrolled in a verified apprenticeship affiliated with the construction industry for the 2017-18 school year, are all eligible to apply for a BFF scholarship. Selection criteria are financial need, academic relationship to the building industry, quality of application, grade point average and community service / extracurricular involvement / work experience.
The Building Futures Foundation Scholarship Application is available on the Building Futures Foundation page of the BIA’s website. www.biaofclarkcounty.org/building-futures-foundation
Completed applications must be submitted by May 26, 2017. Scholarships will be awarded on June 22 at the BIA’s Membership Appreciation Luncheon.
