WA Energy Code Implementation Delayed
Gov. Inslee announced a delay in implementing the new state building codes from July 1 to Nov. 1.
Our state counterpart, BIAW, and the Washington Association of Building Officials jointly asked the governor for the delay to ensure builders and officials could be adequately trained on the new codes prior to their implementation. This delay is crucial for our members to be fully educated on the changes in the codes and to allow for the materials to be available locally before the building codes are implemented.
